Treating Hyperhidrosis with Botox
We treat Hyperhidrosis with Botox cosmetic injections. Botox is made from the botulinum toxin bacteria and is typically used to treat the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face, facial spasms, as well as excessive sweating. The botulinum toxin works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles causing temporary paralysis to the injected area. Once injected the targeted area no longer contracts, relaxing the muscles and essentially softening the look of the skin.
When used to treat localized Hyperhidrosis, Botox can be injected into the hands, feet, and underarms, causing the muscles to relax and, over time, produce less sweat. Patients often notice that they naturally produce less odour as a result. The procedure is performed within a few minutes and requires no anesthetic. The Botox is injected into the targeted muscle with a very fine needle, delivering the solution to the specific area.

Patients suffering from hyperhidrosis typically come to us after trying every prescription, deodorant, overnight cream and/or topical ointment to alleviate their discomfort. After undergoing a series of treatments, patients are relieved and seem to regain more confidence in their everyday lives. Many patients report that these treatments are crucial to them living a normal life free from the fear of being ridiculed and rejected.
