Before & After
Moles may be removed without the need for stitches, depending on the depth of the mole and the type of cosmetic outcome desired. After local anesthesia is administered, the entire mole is removed and sent to a lab for examination. It can take several weeks before the normal skin color returns, making it extremely important to keep the area clean and protected from sun with sunblock.
Once removed, skin tags will not grow back. However, most people who have skin tags will develop more of them as time progresses and the new skin tags may develop in the same area from which the original growths were removed.
Skin tags are a common, benign condition that consists of a bit of skin that projects from the surrounding skin, commonly appearing around the eyelids, neck, groin, underarms, and under the breasts. They are usually painless, but may become irritated and itchy.
How are Skin Tags removed?
Depending on the size of the skin tags, they may be shaved off or via cryosurgery (freezing with liquid nitrogen). Once removed, skin tags will not grow back. However, most people who have skin tags will develop more of them as time progresses and the new skin tags may develop in the same area from which the original growths were removed.
